Obituary for Vernon F. Bryant

Mr. Vernon Bryant passed quietly from this life with all his four children at his side, Wednesday, August 12, 2020. He was 79 years old.

Vernon’s first career was for Missouri Pacific as a truck driver. He provided well for his family and was involved in all the endeavors of his children, even coaching little league for a time. He was a great “Daddy” and taught his children about life’s lessons and the right way to do things, though it did not always please him to practice what he preached. He finished his work life making neon signs, a skill taught to him by his father-in-law and passed to his son and youngest daughter.

Vernon is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Layne Craig Bryant; father, Edgar Franklin Bryant; mother, Edith Newcomb Bryant; brother, Charles Edgar Bryant.

Those left to cherish his memory include his four children, Stephanie Crawford (Mark), Bradley Bryant (Susan), Edie Gill (Doug) and Shannon Bryant; grandchildren, Rebecca Troquille (Tristan), Benjamin Aycock, Steven Bryant (Candace), Matthew Bryant (Katie) and Jesse Bordelon; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Maddox, Emmy Grace, Ayden, Damian, Rylie Grace and Bryson; two brothers; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.
