Obituary for Sam Fulton

Mr. Sam Fulton, age 94, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home.

A Graveside service for Mr. Fulton will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2020 in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Anthony Mangun officiating. The visitation will be held in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home on Thursday, from 2:00 PM until time of service.

Mr. Sam was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. Mr. Fulton was born in Lurgan, Northern Ireland in 1926, then he, his wife and daughter immigrated to Canada in the 1950's. As a younger man, he enjoyed traveling and was a gifted diesel mechanic. Mr. Sam preferred to work on the big trucks rather than the smaller cars. He was a Deacon at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi for many years. Mr. Fulton loved the United States but longed for home and was very proud of his heritage and culture. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lavery Fulton; parents, Samuel Fulton and Mary Mooreland Fulton; and several siblings.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 20 years, Vivian Valentine Fulton; son, Marcel Fulton (Phyllis); daughters, Carolann Brown (Leslie), Diane Toms, Kathy Dufour, and Vicky Boone; 8 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
