Robert Ed Herde was born on June 27, 1958 in Alexandria, Louisiana. He departed from this life due to a terminal illness on Friday, September 11, 2020 in his home surrounded by family and friends.
Ed resided in the town of Poland, Louisana and was a graduate of Poland High School in the year of 1976. He then met the love of his life, Sonya Herde, and they spent 36 years together. Years after their prayers were answered and they had two beautiful daughters. Ed was known for telling the story of how God blessed him with his “3 girls” Sonya, Emily, and Sarah.
A large portion of his career was spent in the pest control field until a few years ago when he began delivering papers for The Town Talk. Ed received many compliments for going above and beyond when delivering papers, even driving up to their homes and personally placing the paper into the hands of his customers.
In Ed’s downtime, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching LSU and Saints football games.
Ed is survived by his spouse Sonya, their two children, Emily Cummings and husband Danny and Sarah Ducote and husband Randall; grandchildren, Aubrey and Lily, brother Richard Herde and wife Sis; sisters, Jane Linzay and Peggy Arnold; as well as hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
