Obituary for Hazel M. Slocum

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Hazel Slocum will be recited on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Alexandria with Father Dan O'Connor officiating. Burial rites to follow at Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville, Louisiana
Mrs. Hazel McLain Slocum, age 87, of Alexandria, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Slocum was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church and owned and operated B & H Upholstery company in Alexandria for over 20 years.
Mrs. Slocum was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Slocum; her parents, Grover and Dovie McLain; her son, Ronnie Kelley; two grandsons, Casey Crooks and Joshua Helms and a great-grandson, Shay M. St.Andrie.

Those left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Ann St. Andrie of Pollock, Brenda Helms (Nick) of Pineville, Cheryl Ann Crooks and Sylvia Slocum of Alexandria; one son, Shane Slocum (Shelley); a sister, Corine Hesse (Paul) of Prospect; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana.
