Obituary for Lacy Rogers

Col. Lacy Rogers, age 96, of Alexandria, LA, entered eternal rest, on Friday, January 8, 2021. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Services for Col. Rogers will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral at 12:00 PM with Reverend Kenneth Satcher officiating. The visitation for Col. Rogers will be in the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home.

Col. Rogers was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Col. Rogers was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and National Guard for a combined 20 plus year career. He served with the 101st Airborne during WWII then went on to become the Commander of Camp Beauregard, serving there from 1977 until 1979. After his military career, he had an equally impressive civilian career and was very involved in his community. He was Chairman Pineville March of Dimes, Post Commander Pineville American Legion, Cenla Shrine Club President 1955, President Pineville Rebel Club (P.H.S.), Member Elks Club, Member Lions Club, in 1985 was selected as one of the Top Ten Small Businesses in the USA by the Small Businesses Assn. of USA. Col. Rogers also opened and owned several gas stations and a Kawasaki Motors dealership. He will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vera Venita "Nita" Deville; parents, Harold and Mae Rogers; 3 siblings; and son-in-law, Donald Erwin Wilson.

Those left to cherish his memory include son, Kendall Rogers and his wife Sarah Rogers of Mobile; daughter, Kimberly Rogers Wilson; grandchildren, Rachel Lacy Rogers, Christopher Joel Rogers and his wife, Ahiah Rogers, and Kristen Michelle Wilson; and a host of extended family and friends.
